Multinational Fine Art Law

What a fascinating and insightful roundtable from the Center for Art Law! The speakers provided detailed background into the legal and ethical concerns regarding:

1) AI in art, and specifically, best practices for artists and what U.S. Copyright laws protect as of March 2025

2) Key takeaways for Multinational art collectors and massive tax changes in the UK to include:

 - Check succession/inheritance status

 - Check on Trusts or other Foundations and the impact of these changes (regardless of which country the Trust resides in)

 - Act now if you’re are a multinational collector and considering moving to the U.K.

3) EU Import Changes regarding art and artifacts created or discovered in a third country (not EU) to prevent trafficking and the legal impact of “proof” (provenance) on Collectors (due diligence by secondary markets)

Many thanks to speakers Atreya MathurAlice Vink , Aaron Taylor and moderator Irina Tarsis for this valuable information for multinational fine art collectors, their legal and financial teams, as well as their personal property appraisers.
