Photography: Cara Romero

Of women photographers, many may recognize the works of Imogene Cunningham, Margaret Burke-White, Dorothea Lange and so many others who were often overlooked.

And then along comes Cara Romero, who is finally getting much deserved exhibitions and accolades. Romero, an enrolled citizen of the Chemehuevi Indian Tribe, says: “We don’t have a word in our language for photography. Fingers crossed 🤞, we hope to see her work up close and personal at International Society of Appraisers Assets Conference 2026 in Phoenix!
